I do not have any regrets about entering in the Writers of the Future contest. Bottom-line, the good far outweighs what little bad there was for me.

Knowing what I do today, however, I’m not so sure I would enter again. A crumbling firewall, the matter of funding, and the increasing body of negative reports about Scientology, provide fertile soil for second thoughts.

If you’re a writer, and are considering entering in the contest, you should feel free to do so, in the knowledge that placing in a quarter has the potential to boost your career. Just don’t close your eyes to the strong ties between Scientology, Galaxy Press, ASI, and Writers of the Future, and weigh for yourself whether a career boost is worth becoming an instrument of promotion for Elrond—and all that’s tied in to him.
