Even the title of this post is a dream-come-true: being able to utter the words “my publisher”. But this is more than that.

I’ve dreamed of being a published author since I first understood that such a thing exists, so at least 40 years. I’ve been working towards that dream for almost a decade. I sold my first short story seventeen years ago, and am now approaching 35 short stories sold and published.

I decided to venture into the world of novel writing less than five years ago. Finished my first book, a Dutch thriller with the working title of “Klaverblad”, two and a half years back.

And today, almost exactly as planned, and well before my 50th birthday, I’ve signed a book deal with one of the major Dutch publishing houses, Meulenhoff Boekerij, whose Boekerij imprint will publish “Klaverblad”.

If all goes well, the book will be in stores this Fall.
