In my depression over Dark Wisdom’s rejection of Prisoner of war, it took me a while to look into where else it might go. Fortunately, the only other market that rejected it so far was Agog! Ripping Reads (in favor of Queen of diamonds, which also got rejected, this time for length). Which means there’s a world of markets still to send it, including the ‘Big Three’ (F&SF, Analog, and Asimov’s). It’s definitely not going to Analog, because Prisoner is just about as far from hard SF as a story can get. But F&SF has an incredibly fast rejection return time, so Prisoner is on its way there as we speak.

It should yield a rejection before my wedding on September 6…
