History Repeats Itself

At least, that’s what ‘Making history’ by Stephen Fry has the reader believing. A clever and well-researched time travel tale as well as a very loud message on the wisdom of assassinating Hitler, ‘Making history’ is a missionary book: a speculative fiction novel that has a good chance of convincing normal people that science fiction is not just for geeks. (Then again, in my experience mainstream readers usually refuse to acknowledge that any book they like might be specfic…) Now I realize that ‘missionary book’ and ‘loud message’ sound like ambivalent praise at best, so let me be perfectly clear on this: ‘Making history’ is a great read and the second of my online book recommendations…
