Only six weeks ago, I mentioned the early retirement (after 8 rejections) of the awkwardly titled What happened while Don was watching the game, one of the silliest and least pretentious of my stories (and I’m counting Beans and marbles). Fellow Codexian Matt Rotundo commented on my post about the retirement, mentioning that it once took him 24 submissions to sell a particular story. So I thought “what the heck” and sent the story out one more time, straight from the Retired folder to Big Pulp magazine.
Whose editor needed only five weeks to buy the story.
Marjorie, Don, abducted little Donny, and their moist and moldy automated car park will see print on March 15, 2011.
