Mission Statement

Time to get off my butt and write. As an incentive, I’m going to figure out a way to reward myself for every 1,000 words I produce – this thread is wide open for every sensible and insensible suggestion in that area.

To force my hand, I’m going to follow the example jaylake set and use my LiveJournal as a progress tracker.

To kick off this terrifying new approach to dealing with my talent for not writing, here’s what’s cooking right now:

Prisoner of War

SF short. Targeted for Agog! Ripping Reads, the 2006 anthology from Agog! Press.

Diamond Sharks

SF short. My Writers of the Future 2005 workshop story. In dire need of a rewrite.

The park, at sunset

Horror short. Chronically unfinished, but deserving of completion. Or at least official retirement.

Building a dam

Fantasy novel. The book-length sequel to Writers of the Future finalist Conversation with a mechanical horse. Working title The return of Barno.

That’ll do for now. My two other novel ideas I’ll keep for later; I also need to write a mystery short for Alfred Hitchcock’s, and I’ll be brooding on that. Feel free to get on my case about this… 😀
